Superb race
written by Vincent on March 15, 2010

A very big "thank you" and congratulations to the whole Craughwell AC team on a superbly organised race. The helpers from parking to the course to the finish area provided a great welcome, as did the tea and sandwiches afterwards. Well done on the inaugural race - I hope we see many more Craughwell 10s.

Seconded!

I'd like to second all Vincent's comments above. We are lucky to be able to participate in many fine road-races in Galway city and county but Craughwell AC have really set the bar to a new level in terms of race-organisation with their inaugral 10 miler yesterday. Many congratulations to all involved. May the race live long and prosper!

Thanks all and errata

As usual there was a mixup with one or two of the results - I won't get a chance to work on these till Wednesday I think. So expect full results for all finishers and updated category results later. The main thing to change is the M40 Galway AAI results were mixed up due to having different race and aai categories :-( So John Devlin (GCH) should have been 2nd and Gerry Carty GCH 3rd. Medals will be on their way! Thanks to everyone that took part and I'd personally like to thank Peter O'Sullivan who was just a brilliant race director.

Congratulations To All

Hi All
Myself and my friend only took up running last November with the hope of doing the Dublin marathon this year.So Craughwell was our first road race so from the moment we arrived to park the car to registration the facilities the course all the marshals the water stops the announcer who said my name when I finished (nice touch)in a time of 1hr 23 min the finish area the goody bag the memento of the meadal which was beautifully made the fine spread of food so if every race we run this year is as well organised we will have nothing to worry about so to everybody involved and to everyone who ran a big congratulations and thank you

Lovely atmosphere
written by eirefoto on March 15, 2010

One thing that stood out yesterday, apart from the superb organisation, was the calmness and friendliness of all the race officials and stewards. No unnecessary panic, shouting or impatience and this helped to create a lovely atmosphere for athletes and supporters alike.

Job well done
written by James Doran on March 16, 2010

I would like to thank everyone involved in the running of this event. I have ran many races over the last few years, and I must say it was one of the best events I have taken part in. It was also nice to see the course go through the local townland areas. The support was very much welcomed while on the run. All the best to Craughwell AC for the rest of the year, and hope to see you next year. I'll try not to turn up so early next time images/smiley.gif

Thanks,
James
